Just south of Rehoboth with a slightly different exposure. SW or W wind with SE swell is the ideal combination. Low to incoming tide produces the best wave quality. More laid-back than Rehoboth.

Parking

IN SEASON (May 15–Sep 15): Meters $3.50/hour. Seasonal permit $300 (general visitors), $175 (property/business owners). Very limited — Dewey is a small town. FREE every Monday 5pm–11pm (summer movie nights). OFF-SEASON (Sep 16–May 14): FREE everywhere. DART bus connects to Rehoboth and parking there is easier.

Transit

DART First State bus connects Dewey Beach to Rehoboth Beach (~5 min) and further north. Jolly Trolley shuttle also runs in summer. Walking from Rehoboth is easy (~15 min along the beach). Park in Rehoboth off-season and take the shuttle in summer.
